YAC 2008
For where Stonewall Jackson grew to manhood
Our bags were set to pack
We headed off to Jackson’s Mill
To attentd the School of YAC
--
We met Justin the first evening
Wearing shorts in the winter, it’s true
His girlfriend had just broke up with him
A bag of snacks at him she threw
--
The Dance Dance Revolution genius
Last years skills had struck us dumb
When we called out to him “got DDR???”
He replied “I got it, and then some!”
--
Stacy had to leave us early
Several ailments a “doctor” diagnosed
We tried to thwart her departure
But were left without her, quite morose
--
We didn’t learn about our flag’s colors
But gained information on grams and crack
Creating a metric-o-matic
At council circle, we were back
--
I played guitar with other kids in Jam Session
Several folk dances we did learn
We watched WVU lose to Georgetown
Then to DDR for the night we returned
--
At the time of our departure
Jess’ car refused to start
We met the Jackson’s Mill maintenance man
And a tow truck worker with much heart
--
Our adventure ended much to quick
With another big how how
And if we could, we wouldn’t wait a year
We’d go back to YAC right now
